Your site is at risk of being hacked if you don’t take the proper precautions when you are using plugins for your website.  Hackers can exploit vulnerabilities in plugins and inject malicious code into your pages.  This code could lead to the entire site being taken over by the hacker and used for malicious purposes, such as displaying ads for other sites that may contain malware.

How often you choose to update your website plugins is up to you. We recommend updating weekly or at least once a month. Updating plugins takes seconds and is very easy to do. If you haven’t already, we recommend you check out our tutorial on how to back up your website.
